In an article by ZDnet, Commonwealth, state and local government representatives have agreed to work on a unified approach to Australia's broadband infrastructure — as pressure mounts on the Federal government to insist on a structural separation of Telstra.
In a similar article by the Financial Review, State and territory governments have made a forceful entry into the battle over how Canberra will award contracts for the $4.7 billion national broadband network, demanding that it be operated at arm's length from the companies that will retail the network's services.
