If commenters think your commenting thread is a public space where they can do whatever they want because nobody’s watching, they will do whatever they want. And that is not pretty. And then the potentially constructive comments never get posted, because normal people do not want to waste their time thinking and writing comments that will just get flamed.

If you don’t delete or disemvowel inappropriate comments, people will think you are not even reading the comment threads. If you don’t show up in person, nobody will know you are even interested in their thoughts. If you don’t delete the trolls, the trolls will take over and the nice people will go somewhere else.

Jobs ha detto a Palm: "non assumere miei dipendenti, altrimenti ti faccio causa sui brevetti". (e già qui, se lo guardi dal punto di vista del mercato del lavoro, ci potrebbe essere una questione di illiceita'...)

Palm ha risposto "anche noi abbiamo brevetti, ci faremmo del male spendendo un sacco di soldi in avvocati".

Jobs ha risposto "ti sei reso conto che noi abbiamo piu' soldi ?" [per fare la causa]

L'amministrazione della giustizia è più favorevole al più ricco, è il sottotesto..

BTW, ci sono novita' nella causa Apple vs. Samsung. Il giudice ha stabilito che la violazione di alcuni brevetti tra quelli presentati da Apple in giudizio, non è volontaria

Circa la verifica dell'identità online

In un post di marzo 2012 proponevo di usare un numero E164 come asset nazionale (dato che la gestione dell'address space, a differenza di altri identificativi, è dei singoli stati) su cui costruire un sistema di autenticazione per l'accesso ai servizi.

Lo ho rilanciato anche al Cloud Computing Summit per la PA a novembre 2012; penso che la autenticazione e non (solo) la firma digitale sia un punto cardine per lo sviluppo di servizi digitali al cittadino.

Questo rapporto del settembre scorso nasce dalla considerazione che molte delle sfide che le amministrazioni locali devono affrontare nel fornire servizi digitali al cittadino nascono proprio dalla barriera costituita dall'Identity Assurance.

Il 14 novembre scorso il governo inglese ha annunciato il primo Identity Provider framework (vedere anche Government Digital Service), cui hanno aderito inizialmente 7 aziende che forniscono servizi di verifica di identità, cui , nei giorni scorsi, si è aggiunto Paypal. (Tutti i dettagli qui (ah!, la trasparenza...)).

A proposito delle Internet company, Ibarra ritiene che si tratti di un ''tema da sfatare''. L'AD di Wind non vede ''problemi''. ''Google, Amazon, Facebook - spiega - non sono un rischio per le telecom mobili: sono un'opportunita'. E non e' una speranza: e' una realta'. VimpelCom, a cui fa capo Wind, ha appena siglato un accordo proprio con Google per la ''revenue sharing'' dei contenuti comprati dai nostri clienti attraverso il market place di Android, Google Play''.

Il billing è un asset da sfruttare. Poi ribatezzato Internet Pay, non è mai stato spinto, basta vedere l'elenco dei siti partner. ("Dove acquistare" al link precedente)

La cifratura di Mega serve a qualcosa ?

dicono che fanno deduplicazione.
i casi sono due: o n copie dello stesso file cifrato sono tutte diverse, e allora la eduplicazione non funziona, o sono tutte uguali e allora è immediato vedere chi ha cosa.
insomma, qualche sopracciglio sulla privacy, il piu' grande selling point, IMHO va sollevato.
d'altro canto, non mi pare che kim.com sia esattamente un paladino delle libertà digitali, non più di quanto gli basta per i suoi affari. (ricordo le pistole fumanti di megaupload)

On one hand, the reason behind implementing a block-based data deduplication scheme is obvious: storage is cheap, but it's not that cheap, and the distributed infrastructure providers supplying storage to Mega don't have to waste space storing non-unique data—instead of 10,000 copies of The Hobbit, the service would only store a single copy, freeing up terabytes of space (though the scale and scope of the deduplication isn't known yet, so this may be optimistic). On the other hand, even if the service doesn't know those blocks of data happen to be The Hobbit, the service does know which users own those deduplicated blocks, and if one user is implicated, there's proof against all the others, too.
