L'erba del vicino: in Francia l'uso della matematica punito fino a 5 anni di reclusione

PARIS (AP) — France's lower house of Parliament has approved a measure aiming to give prison sentences to technology company executives who refuse to give data to investigators in terrorism-related cases.

The bill, adopted Tuesday by 474 votes to 32 in the National Assembly, will now have to be debated by the Senate.

One measure would punish executives in companies like Apple and Google with a fine of up to 350,000 euros ($386,000) and a five-year prison sentence if they deny prosecutors access to a suspect's encrypted data.

Gli smartphone con sensore di impronte digitali possono essere sbloccati con un trucco

Alcuni ricercatori della Michigan State University hanno pubblicato un paper in cui dimostrano che basta uno scanner, una stampante a getto d’inchiostro, un inchiostro speciale e 15 minuti per ricreare una finta impronta digitale che può permettere di sbloccare uno smartphone che riconosce le impronte.

Basta avere una buona foto dell’impronta digitale (ad esempio lasciata su vetro) da scansionare per ottenere un negativo e utilizzare inchiostro conduttivo e carta speciale della AgIC (normalmente utilizzate per circuiti stampati) avendo cura di utilizzare le giuste proporzioni.

io non amo l'identificazione biometrica perchè le impronte digitali sono facilmente replicabili e una volta che ti violano un dispositivo protetto da una tua impronta digitale, non e' che puoi cambiarla. (come fai con le password)

Sanzioni esemplari: Apple multata dall'Antitrust USA per 450Milioni

Apple Inc. must pay $450 million to end an antitrust suit after the U.S. Supreme Court refused to question a finding that the company orchestrated a scheme to raise the prices for electronic books.

The justices, without comment, turned away an appeal by Apple, leaving intact a federal appeals court ruling favoring the U.S. Justice Department and more than 30 states that sued.

The rebuff means Apple must comply with a settlement it reached with the states in 2014. The accord calls for Apple to pay $400 million to e-book consumers, $20 million to the states, and $30 million in legal fees.

non è una tastiera qualunque, è quella che (si diceva) fu usata per mandare la prima mail con il simbolo "@".

era la tastiera di una teletype (TTY) modello 33.

L'antitrust tedesca apre una indagine su Facebook per abuso di posizione dominante

FRANKFURT, March 2 (Reuters) - Germany's cartel office has opened an investigation into Facebook for abuse of market power through breaches of data protection law, it said on Wednesday. The watchdog said it suspected that Facebook's terms of service regarding its use of user data may abuse its possibly dominant position in the social network market.

Nissan Leaf electric cars vunlerable to hacking - expert comment - Global Security Mag Online

The BBC yesterday reported that “some of Nissan’s Leaf cars can be easily hacked, allowing their heating and air-conditioning systems to be hijacked", according to a prominent security researcher Troy Hunt. It was also reported that a flaw with the electric vehicle’s companion app also meant data about drivers’ recent journeys could be spied on.

"The Nissan Leaf vulnerability is an issue that needs to be fixed by the manufacturer and while this vulnerability doesn’t have the same impact as the Jeep vulnerabilities documented last year, it’s an entry point into the controls of a vehicle and the potential for a more severe hack is now present. Nissan has an opportunity to embrace this discovery and enhance the security controls of it’s product. Nissan would be smart to launch a “bounty” program, if for no other reason but to market their willingness to put their security controls to the test and build the confidence of their customers and the industry. Only time will tell how serious Nissan takes this threat to it’s vehicles and customers."
